Path

From Vilminore, one ascends along the old road to Pianezza, marked by the of the Way of the Cross’ Stations. Just above the Meto bridge, the path forks. The “Via Decia” heads towards Comen, to enter the fir forest leading to Roccolo dei Cricoi. Treat yourself to the view of Presolana from up here, as well as considering the unique and, in its own way sophisticated architecture of this building, once used for hunting. Entering the woods again, you reach the large Trena meadow, which you skirt at the bottom, so as not to jeopardise grass harvesting. You cross the Tino stream to join the Quader path further on, towards an extraordinary natural balcony overlooking the valley with its hut. It is only a few steps to the suggestive Manna waterfall, before resuming the path along woods dotted with charcoal kilns and ancient slate quarries. Crossing the Val Blancone and the Valle Desiderata, you enter Valle del Vò along the mule track that climbs to the Tagliaferri Shelter. An absolute pearl awaits you, the Vò waterfall. Take time to enjoy its voice, its sigh. It is only a short distance to Schilpario. Experienced walkers will be able to reach it via the “Linea Path”. All others can follow the road from Ronco up to Schilpario cemetery, from where one can take the path to the giant bench and the panoramic frame facing Pizzo Camino. Here you have reached your destination the birthplace of Archbishop Angelo Maj, celebrated by poet GiacomoLeopardi.
