For mountain and community

Founded in 1978 by the Colerese mountaineer Placido Piantoni, the CAI ‘Valle di Scalve’ sub-section now has around two hundred and fifty members, over sixty of whom belong to youth mountaineering.
Our commitment is concentrated in three areas:
the maintenance of the paths and the complex system of signposts in our territory; the organisation of cultural initiatives, aimed at promoting knowledge of the mountains and their responsible use, the nurturing of the younger generations, through the proposal of exploration and socialisation activities, especially during the summer period.
In 2022, the sub-section launched the “La Via Decia” walking project, through which it intends to make a contribution to the growth of the Scalve Valley, especially in the tourism sector. Aiming at a development model that can combine economic goals with the no less important ones of environmental protection and the social and cultural growth of the territory.
